Modo, the 3D editor has produced their latest version, 202. They have been promoting version 2 for a while and so will be received eagerly by the increasingly large number of modellers that swear by it. The new release adds to their major upgrade with a huge increase in speed, 3D paint and excellent UV mapping. If it can do these as well as it does the modelling it will become a standard part of the pipeline. 3dsMax has got the tools to do the UV mapping but they can be a bit cumbersome sometimes and the fidly details don’t always work. Texture mapping models is a black art at the moment and so it will be good to see the problem solved.
I must make some time to have a good play with this package.
